Through My Eyes

Photography and the art of slowing down

The images that have always been most meaningful to me are the ones that carry the emotion of the moment with them. For me, it’s the unscripted moments during a portrait session, the quiet exchange newlyweds steal away from the crowd, or the unseen angle that finally brings a brand to life. Those are the moments that bridge the divide between an image and a memory.

For many people, the idea of being in front of a camera feels intimidating. Often, they believe their flaws will define them. For me, shooting is a dialogue, not a dictation, and the joy on a person’s face when they see themselves the way I see them is something they carry with them for a lifetime. Confidence is contagious, and vulnerability is courageous. Those beliefs shape the way I approach my work.
